Wood Manufacturing

Presses found in the Wood manufacturing industry are typically multi-opening, multi-platen presses. The majority of these presses utilize a soluble-oil / water based fluid media while others maintain standard fire retardant type hydraulic fluid media. The main rams are typically long stroking making them subject to greater side loading.

We can supply split or endless seals in English, Metric or custom sizes to customers operating Washington Iron, Dieffenbacher, Fjellman, Motala, Willams-White, Siempelkamp, Globe, Superior or any press used in the industry.

Alignment Guard Gland Ring

Our Alignment Guard Gland Ring (AGGR) replaces standard single piece hard rubber coated fabric top ring with a custom two part design. Manufactured from cast Nylon 6/12, this material is extremely strong, abrasion resistant and has very low moisture uptake properties. The stiffness of the AGGR maintains the alignment of the sealing components with the side walls of the cylinder and the outside diameter of the stroking ram. This prevents uneven wear on the inside and outside diameters of the sealing components. The two part design of the AGGR allows for the secondary component to reposition and seal off any possible extrusion gaps caused from equipment wear. This secondary triangular shape component moves upward when under pressure closing off the gap and protecting the elastomer sealing rings from extruding into these hardware gaps.
